WRA Board Members

David Skeat (Chairman)

David is the National Director of Australian Relief and Mercy Services (ARMS) and National Director for Mercy Ministries for YWAM Australia.

David is a trained Emergency Medical Technician and is involved in primary health care training. He is the initiator of ARMS disaster relief ministry (RescueNet) and its international campaign against Malaria (Buzz Off).

David travels widely and has a passion for impacting the poor and needy and making development count.

Ruth Thomas (Deputy Chair)

Ruth is the Director of World Hope Australia which undertakes projects in Africa, Indonesia and the Pacific. Ruth was raised in PNG with missionary parents. In the early 1990's, she worked for three years in the Highlands of PNG with her husband.

In addition to managing World Hope Australia, Ruth manages the office for their family business.

Philip Good (Treasurer)

Philip is an accountant with a medium size public practice on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne. Philip is also the Treasurer of New Peninsula Baptist Church and a committee member of the local sea scouts troop.

John Winkett

John is Deputy Director of Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). He has an extensive background in marketing, advertising, sales and communications in the private sector. For the last 20 years he has been working with the not-for-profit sector.

John has wide experience in developing Corporate Social Responsibility strategies with companies like American Express, BHP Billiton and Alcoa. In 2001 he was awarded the Prime Minister's Community & Business Partnerships national award for a project with Procter and Gamble to provide a computer centre for the Redfern Community in Sydney and support for an Aboriginal Health Service in the Centre of Australia.

Iye Ling Miller

Iye Ling is a registered nurse specialised in gerontological nursing. She has owned and managed a chain of aged-care facilities, including the Earle Haven Retirement Village and now serves on the board of the Adventist Retirement Villages.

Iye Ling is an entrepreneuer and philanthropist who is committed to promoting social enterprises and Socially Green development in poor communities.

Bob Mitchell

Bob Mitchell has a strong interest in international development work, arising out of projects in East Timor. He is a lawyer by background, and was a Tax Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 14 years. More recently Bob has commenced work for World Vision Australia in a senior legal and governance role.

Bob has been studying theology for many years, and is training to be a deacon with the Uniting Church. He has been a board member of several not-for-profit organisations including BlueCare, The Timor Children’s Foundation, and The PwC Foundation.
